Getting a credit card is almost indispensable today. Why, since I cancelled my American Express credit card, I have been unable to partake of a wide variety of goods and services, and that is no joke. I don’t think I realized how many of the most basic things in life relied on having a credit card, even to joining my local gym in Philadelphia. I remember when using cash was the preferred way to buy things.
It is a global phenomenon buying products or services with your American Express credit card without even caring whether or not we can afford them or even need them. Using your American Express credit card may be convenient but there is a cost for the convenience of paying at a later date. In some places, credit card debt is spiraling out of control. Today, credit card debt is one of the biggest worries facing us in America.
I couldn’t think of any other alternative but to get rid of my American Express credit card. I found it too easy using my card and spending money that wasn’t mine to spend. I would charge everything and anything on it, and soon the costs would spiral out of control. I stated to panic because the debt became so great it was impossible to pay it.
Repaying my debt wasn’t easy and it took the help of a debt refinancing service to put me back on track. It’s not something I ever want to repeat. Now, however, the debt is paid off and the American Express credit card has gone. Most of you reading this will probably think it’s not the fault of the credit card but you need to understand something fundamental about human psychology.
When I had to pay with everything in cash, I would know just what I had at any given time. Like I said before you are not as conscious of the cost when you use your credit card. I would spend money on everything, almost like a person possessed but before long, there wasn’t anything left. So now there is no American Express credit card problem for me to worry about.

Getting a credit card is almost indispensable today. The funny thing is how you lose some of the services you took for granted when you destroy your American Express card like I did. I found I couldn’t join my local gym, order clothes over the internet or even reserve a plane ticket to New York, online, the basic stuff of life. I remember when using cash was the preferred way to buy things.

All across the country and the world, people are using their Visa, Mastercard card, or American Express credit card to make purchases with money that they do not have of goods which they may not need. However, there is a price to pay when you use your American Express credit card and the buy now, pay tomorrow attitude. In many places around the world, credit card debts are increasing at a worrying rate. Today, credit card debt is one of the biggest worries facing us in America.
Canceling my American Express credit card was something I had to do as I much as I hated doing it. I was getting out of control with my spending because it was just so easy handing over the card. I was using my card for just about everything, but I soon noticed the debts were mounting. Panic kicked in when I found I could no longer pay the debt.
To get my debt back into a position where I could pay for it I resorted to using a debt refinancing company. It was like being in a living nightmare. The hardship was worth it though because I am now debt free and my American Express credit card is no more. Most people that have never been in this situation will think I am making excuses blaming the credit card but they are missing something important about people.
I was more conscious of the cost of things when I paid for goods in cash. The credit card just made it so easy; you don’t even look at the cost. I could spend money like water, and before I knew it, it was all gone. So remember, if you don’t have an American Express card, you don’t have any worries.
